The brand INDO-TECH was established in 1975 under the name and style of M/s. Indo Tech Electric Company (ITEC), a partnership firm. Subsequently, Indo-Tech Transformers Limited (ITTL) was incorporated as a public limited company in the year 1992 with the object to acquire the business of ITEC (Partnership firm). In accordance with the objects set out in its Memorandum of Association (MoA), ITEC was acquired in 1994 thereby continuing and expanding its operations in the transformer manufacturing sector.

ITTL has since evolved into one of the leading transformer manufacturing Companies in Southern India with its manufacturing facilities located at Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu. The company has currently installed capacity of approximately 12,000 MVA which was proposed to be enhanced to 20,000 MVA in a phased manner. Over the years, the company has manufactured more than 66,000 transformers of various ratings up to 250 MVA, which are currently in service across substations and industries in India as well as international markets. The Kanchipuram facility, established in 2008, has produced over 70,000 MVA and 10,000 transformers across both DT and PT ranges as of March 2026.
